
DUBUQUE, Iowa — Dubuque Fire Department crews responded to a reported fire at the Grand Harbor Hotel just before noon today.
At 11:55 a.m., Battalion One, Truck One, Engine One, Medic One, Engine Five, Engine Six, and Truck Four were dispatched after a caller reported fire alarms sounding and heavy smoke in the elevator area.
Upon arrival, firefighters entered to investigate. Occupants directed them to a possible fire in the laundry room.
Crews found light haze of smoke in the area and quickly located the source: a washer .
Firefighters shut off the burners and utilities to the washer, and the fire was contained to the washer. No injuries were reported, and no other damage occurred.
Crews returned to service by 12:06 p.m.
