Holy Cross, Iowa – January 4, 2026

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a tragic fatal accident on a farm in rural Holy Cross that occurred on December 29, 2025.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim became entangled in agricultural machinery while performing farm work. Emergency responders pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, authorities are withholding the victim’s identity and additional details pending further inquiry.

The Holy Cross Fire Department, Holy Cross Ambulance Service, and Iowa State Patrol provided assistance at the scene.

The investigation continues.
