Dubuque, Iowa — Darrell Christopher Moore Jr., head football coach at Dubuque Senior High School and former president of the dissolved Dubuque Independent Football League, has filed a petition to plead guilty to first-degree theft.

The Class C felony charge stems from allegations of misappropriating over $47,000 in league funds starting November 2020, including transfers to personal accounts, gambling deposits, and unrelated purchases.

Court records show a plea hearing scheduled for January 5, 2026, following a December 29, 2025, guilty plea petition and prior order setting the plea.

Moore, arrested in November 2024, had previously pleaded not guilty before the trial was delayed.
