PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — A 20-year-old Platteville man was cited following a single-vehicle crash on December 13, 2025, in Platteville Township.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:30 a.m. to a report of an unoccupied vehicle in a ditch near the 600 block of Mitchell Hollow Road.

Deputies located a heavily damaged 2007 Audi S8 on the south side of the roadway.

Investigation determined James King of Platteville had been driving the vehicle, lost control, and left the scene without notifying law enforcement.

King received citations for operating without a valid driver’s license (third offense within three years), failure to maintain control, operating without insurance, and failure to notify law enforcement of a crash.

The Platteville Fire Department and Rips Towing assisted at the scene.

No injuries were reported.
