Platteville, Wis. – On November 19, 2025, at about 4:55 p.m., Katie Weigel, 47, of rural Platteville, crashed her 2022 Ford Bronco Sport on College Farm Road.

Weigel told dispatch another vehicle forced her off the road, causing the SUV to roll onto its driver’s side. She was uninjured but trapped until Platteville Fire crews helped her exit.

Deputies investigating the scene determined Weigel was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 1st Offense, taken to Southwest Health for a legal blood draw, and released to a sober party.

Assisting agencies included Platteville Fire, Southwest Health EMS, and Ripp’s Towing. The crash remains under investigation.

Weigel is presumed innocent until proven Guilty in court.
