On September 16, 2025, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man, Mickey Miller, was sentenced to over three years in federal prison for holding a woman at gunpoint in Dubuque, Iowa. The sentencing follows Miller’s guilty plea in April 2025 to one count of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

The incident occurred in October 2024, when Miller allegedly pointed a loaded firearm at a woman in Dubuque, threatening her life and the lives of others. Authorities arrested him the same night. Since his arrest, Miller has reportedly assaulted jail staff on multiple occasions.

Miller’s prior criminal history includes a felony conviction for robbery involving the threat of force. In addition to the prison term, he was ordered to serve three years of supervised release upon completion of his sentence.

The case highlights the legal consequences of illegal firearm possession and violent threats, with federal authorities taking swift action to ensure public safety.
