
LANCASTER, WI – A tragic farming accident claimed the life of a 77-year-old man in South Lancaster Township on Monday, September 8, 2025. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call at 1:47 PM reporting that a man was trapped under farming equipment on Boice Creek Road.
Emergency responders from the Lancaster Fire Department and Lancaster EMS rushed to the scene, where they found Robert Stader, a resident of Lancaster, deceased. According to the Sheriff’s Office investigation, Stader and another individual were working on a piece of farm machinery when Stader became entangled in its moving parts, resulting in fatal injuries.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was supported at the scene by the Lancaster Fire Department, Lancaster EMS, and the Grant County Coroner’s Office. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
