DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 20-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning in Dubuque on charges of domestic abuse assault against a pregnant person, involving impeding the flow of air or blood, a felony.
Edwin Jaheim Ventura, was taken into custody at 4:25 a.m. at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center 770 Iowa St., according to Dubuque police records. The incident occurred at the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center, which houses the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office and the county jail.
Authorities have not released further details about the incident or the condition of the victim. Ventura is being held at the Dubuque County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
