Grant County Wisconsin – On April 17, 2025, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one-vehicle collision with injuries on Highway 80 near Mockingbird Road in the Town of Lima.

Upon arrival, Deputy responded to the incident at approximately 7:04 PM. He learned that Connor Dowell, 19, and passenger Jonathan Garcia, 18, both of Montfort, were northbound on Highway 80 near Mockingbird Road in Dowell’s 2004 Pontiac Vibe. Dowell’s vehicle entered the shoulder of the road, and he overcorrected his steering while attempting to return the vehicle onto the roadway. This caused Dowell’s vehicle to enter a ditch and strike a culvert, momentarily lifting the vehicle off the ground. The vehicle then traveled approximately 100 feet before coming to a stop. Dowell’s vehicle sustained disabling damage as a result of the collision. Both Dowell and Garcia were wearing their seatbelts but were injured and transported by EMS to Southwest Health Center in Platteville.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, Montfort EMS, and Haase Towing and Service.
