In Dubuque District Court, Judge Thomas Bitter sentenced 30-year-old Christian Kwallek to a year in a correctional facility until he completes their program for release. He is also mandated to complete 5 years of probation. Should he violate his probation, he faces up to 7 years in prison.

Christian Alexander Kwallek, aged 29 at the time of arrest, faced multiple charges after allegedly setting a woman on fire at a Dubuque residence on February 23rd.

He was convicted of:

  1. Willful Injury – Bodily Injury (Felony),
  2. Domestic Abuse Assault With Injury – Simple Assault (Misdemeanor),
  3. Arson 1st Degree (Felony),
  4. Reckless Use of Fire,
  5. Violation of a Protective Order.

The charge of Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood Flow Causing Bodily Injury (Misdemeanor) was dismissed.
