On September 17, 2023, at 3:28 AM the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a stabbing that had occurred at 5503 Southwest Rd, Platteville Township, Grant County, Wisconsin.

Investigating personnel learned that two men, who were in Grant County from Florida for work, had been involved in an argument which led to one of the two men being stabbed and cut, multiple times, by the other man. The Sheriff’s Office took Johnny Simon, age 45 of Orlando, FL, into custody, and he is currently being held in the Grant County Jail awaiting formal charges. The matter is still being investigated and an updated press release will be sent after the investigation is complete, and the subject is formally charged in court.

Persons arrested/or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest only indicates probable cause exists to bring formal charges. The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld, per Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
