Update: Arron Johnson has now been charged with first degree robbery in addition to 1st degree murder. On February 7th, 2023, Johnson intended to rob and scare Lonnie Burns but instead shooting him, resulting in his death.

Aaron Johnson, 24, has been transported from the Cook County Jail to the Dubuque County Jail and booked on charges of first-degree murder of Lonnie Burns today. Johnson is being held on a $1,500,000.00 bond.

Burns was shot and suffered numerous wounds in the 700 block of Rhomberg on February 7th of this year and died in a Dubuque Hospital.

Dubuque’s investigators used city cameras to investigate the crime.
